Dallas Is One Of The Best Alaska Fishing Guides
I grew up in Wenatchee Washington, where my father started teaching me to fish at the age of three. His passion quickly rubbed off on me, and when I turned ten we got our first boat capable of chasing salmon on the Columbia River. That season I caught my first Chinook and I was hooked, right along with the fish. Over the years I honed my skills on the Columbia but was unable to catch the numbers of fish that I desired. After high school I decided I needed to explore Alaska. I was able to get a job as a deckhand on a charter boat out of Sitka. After witnessing firsthand what an Alaska Fishing Trip had to offer, I knew that I had found what I was looking for. This was also around the same time that I discovered I get sea sick easily, and that the ocean was no place for me. Luckily a friend of mine encouraged me to go to captain’s school and get Coast Guard certified. The next season I found my new home at the Nushagak River Fishing Lodge, where I have been for five years.
On my boat I operate very efficiently, and professionally to ensure my clients get the ultimate fishing experience. As one of the Best Alaska Fishing Guides I keep a well maintained, clean, and organized boat. While on my boat you will never have to bait a hook, release your own fish, or touch the anchor line; unless of course you’re feeling exceptionally adventurous and would like to give me a hand. I am a great teacher, with lots of patience for novice anglers who might need a little extra instruction. I have experience with all areas and techniques on the waters of the Nushagak River to help keep you in the fish! Come fish with me and I confidently guarantee your satisfaction!

I was born in Northwestern Michigan, fishing some of the finest steelhead, salmon, and trout country in the Great Lakes region. As soon as I was able to hold a fishing rod, my dad introduced me to the sport of fishing which has turned into a life-long passion for me. I live in the outdoors and breathe hunting and fishing. I am a gear junkie, and I love learning and innovating new and more effective techniques to take some of the most prized game fish in the world. While I love to chase just about anything that swims, salmon and trout fishing in flowing waters has been my biggest obsession since I was 8 years old. I fish with a variety of techniques, from backtrolling plugs for big kings to fly fishing with light leaders and the smallest flies for trophy trout.
My first time guiding Alaska Fishing Trips was on the Kenai and Kasilof rivers, chasing kings, silvers, sockeyes, steelhead, and rainbow trout. I am a certified U.S. Coast Guard captain and have attended the Kenai River Guide Academy in 2014. Spring 2015 marks my graduation from Lake Superior State
University with a bachelor’s degree in Fisheries and Wildlife Management, which has helped me understand the biological processes of the fish we love to chase even further. I am very excited to have the opportunity to guide on the Nushagak River and put some great fish in the net, but even better memories that will last you a lifetime.
When you step onto my boat, you will find a clean and organized vessel ready to catch some fish! I love to share stories of the past, and make new friends through a great fishing experience.
